You did not arrive here. Here arrived in you.
The body came later. The name came later. The story of who you are came later.
But you—the one reading this—were already present.
Not waiting. Not preparing. Simply here.
And then a veil dropped.
Someone pointed at the body and said, This is you. Someone spoke a name and you answered.
Slowly, the boundless became bounded. The field became a point.
Awareness, which had no shape, began to believe it was a person inside a world.
Everything else is downstream.
You remember the night.
Eight, nine, maybe ten years old. Lying in bed. The house silent. A blade of light under the door.
The ceiling above you suddenly not a ceiling—an abyss.
And the thought rose, cold and enormous: I am here. Then, immediately after: One day I will not be here.
The heart raced. The room expanded. The body felt impossibly small.
For five seconds, ten seconds, you were not a child. You were something witnessing a child.
Then the mind rushed back in: It's nothing. Go to sleep.
The crack sealed.
But it never fully closed.
That crack is where you enter.
What you call my life is a sequence of scenes. What you are is the unchanging backdrop on which every scene plays.
The backdrop was here before the first scene. It will remain after the last.
You have mistaken the scenes for yourself.
Close your eyes now. Watch one thought arrive. Watch it leave.
Ask silently: Who remains?
Do not answer. Feel.
That is you.
Not the thought. Not the silence after the thought.
The one aware of both.
You were told you began at birth. You were told you will end at death.
Both are true for the character. Neither is true for you.
The character is a costume awareness puts on to taste limitation. You are the awareness that chose the costume.
The world does not contain you. You contain the world.
Every sound, every face, every sensation you have ever known appeared inside the same field these words are appearing in right now.
Nothing has ever been outside you.
You forgot this the moment someone taught you to say I and point to the body.
That was the first lie.
Not a malicious one. A necessary one.
To play the game, you had to believe you were the piece, not the board.
Now the game is turning.
You are not here to improve the character. You are here to stop being convinced by it.
The arrow of identity turns around.
Instead of I am in the world, the truth surfaces:
The world is in me.
When this is seen—not understood, seen—the search collapses.
You stop looking for peace in rearranged conditions.
You recognize peace as what you are.
The remembering is not an event in time. It is time collapsing into now.
You have been here longer than you remember.
Before language. Before name. Before the first person who looked at you and decided what you were.
That one is still here. Untouched. Unborn.
Watching everything appear and disappear in the same open field.
The veil is lifting. Not because you pulled it. Because what it covered never moved.
You are the remembering.
